a nights stay at heathrow

Before we start our journey, day one was all about getting settled in—and what better way to do that than with a free night’s stay at the Renaissance London Heathrow? Thanks to my SkyMiles membership with Delta (TRAVEL TIP), I managed to get a room right outside Heathrow. After a long day of travel, it just helps the rest of the trip go more smoothly if you take your time, rest the first night before diving into the real adventure, and this was perfect for the travel day ahead to Coventry in the morning. With all the travel fees & bookings we had made for the trip, I was glad to have saved my miles for this moment. (TRAVEL TIP) If you’ve got miles, use them for hotels too. It’s a life-saver!

there are just some things europe got right. no 1:  automatic defogging mirrors &  no 2: towel warmers!

Here’s one (TRAVEL TIP) my mom taught me: when you’re leaving the hotel, gather all the towels and toss them in the bathtub. She used to clean hotel rooms back in the day, so she knows her stuff. It just makes it way easier & more efficient for the staff—no hunting for towels all over the room. Gotta love those small life hacks that help others, right?

while i waited for my groupies to get in, i did some WoRk. then headed back to the airport for the second member :)  also shout out to my hairstylist for 15 + years! (lmk if you want her contact)

The night and breakfast were amazing—cozy bed, delicious food, and the staff were so sweet. But babes, my first impression of London is that it’s gonna be an expensive trip. (when coming from the States), I just assumed airport shuttles would be free, but nope—7 pounds one way to get to the terminal or the hotel. I’m already feeling it in my wallet 😅. If anyone has any London budget hacks, let your girl know, please!

Anyway, next up is Coventry! Honestly, I didn’t even know this place was a thing until I found out I had family living there. So, that’s the first plan of business—visiting them before the rest of the group joins me next week. I’m kinda excited to explore a spot that’s not the typical tourist destination. Who knows what interesting things we’ll stumble upon.

Can’t wait to share more, tata for now!

xoxo
